The result shows an effective segmentation method to separate different objects in rural areas recorded on UAV image data. In this study, proposed a novel method to execute the separation of objects that exist in the data with segmentation method. To delineate the area correctly there is an object-based image analysis methods (OBIA) that could be applied. Rural area has certain characteristics in its land cover namely ricefield. Displayed area at the data shows the objects clearly. The capability to obtain cloud-free images and the flexibility of time are some of the advantages of UAV photo data compared to satellite images with optical sensor. Photo data taken by UAV become one of reliable detailed-scale remote sensing data sources. The use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to take aerial photographs is increasing in recent years. The application of aspects is not maximal because there are several indicators of ISPO that have not been implemented by the smallholders. The application of environmental aspect is in "Fairly Good" category with a score of 2.77.

Application of economic aspect is in "Fairly Good" category with a score of 2.31. Application of economic aspect is in "Very Good" category with a score of 4.80. Results showed that average sample of smallholders who was men, in their productive age, had received 9-year compulsory education program, and had more than 10-year farming experience. The purpose of this study is to determine characteristics of smallholders and application of sustainability aspects in facing ISPO standardization. This research was carried out in plasma plantations in Siak Regency, Riau, Indonesia. As an effort to overcome it, Indonesian Government made a certification called Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO). The increases of plantation area and oil palm production in Indonesia are feared to have negative impacts on environment. Indonesia is the largest oil palm producing country in the world.
